The 10th International Hydrocolloids Conference

Ladies and Gentlemen,
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, I am delighted to welcome you to Shanghai and to Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China. SJTU is pleased and proud to have been awarded the opportunity to host the 10th International Hydrocolloids Conference (10th IHC). The Conference will be held from 20th - 24th June 2010 in Shanghai, China. Although 2010 is still a long time away, we warmly invite you to diarise these dates and make every effort to join us in Shanghai.
The International Hydrocolloids series of conferences was initiated in 1991. The first International Hydrocolloid Conference was held in Tsukuba, Japan in 1992 and they have been held biennially since: in Ohio, USA; Sydney, Australia; Osaka, Japan; North Carolina, USA; Guelph, Canada; Melbourne, Australia; Trondheim, Norway and Singapore. This conference is now approaching its 20th birthday. The International Hydrocolloids Conference has established a forum and provided a platform for the worldwide academic and commercial scientists and technologists to exchange and discuss new ideas and findings in the study and application of hydrocolloids. The theme of the 10th IHC is "Hydrocolloids Science Solutions in an Evolving World". The scientific program of this year’s conference will cover current topics and recent progress in the areas of hydrocolloid science and technology. The organizing committee would like to extend its cordial invitation to you for participating in the 10th IHC. We will make every effort to facilitate the interactions and scientific exchange among the participants to benefit from presentations and discussions about the most important current topics in hydrocolloids.
It is our intention to make the 10th IHC an event that combines high-quality scientific content with the opportunity to meet and network in a world class venue – Shanghai is the largest economic and transportation center in China and also enjoys a reputation as a famed historical city in the country. Now, the city is striving to turn itself into one of the economic, financial, trade and transportation centers in the world. Shanghai is also the host city of the World Exposition 2010 that starts from May 1 to Oct 31, 2010. I am sure this city will provide you with something even more pleasing and appealing.
